Would like to transfer Home loan from Ing Vysya to HSBC Smart home loan
I already have home loan with ING Vysya. The amount is 40Lakhs and I have make some prepayment of 5Lakhs. Now I would like to transfer the Home loan to HSBC Smart home loan with 8.5% flowting rate as it would help me reducing the interest rate. At the same time I am also evaluating IDBI with 8.25% fixed for first 2yrs and then floating rate. I would like to know your view whether to go with HSBC or IDBI. BTW, my salary a/c is with HSBC.

Best Answer:
When you transfer home loan from one bank to another both the banks take charges. You first check that charges you will pay don't exceed the existing loan amount. As you have salary account in HSBC you check with the bank official if they can reduce these charges. If yes, then it would be better to transfer loan to HSBC.
