Can I get tax exemption for homeloan taken joinlty with my father. the property isin my fathers name. LIC has said he ll give tax certificate in my name. additional information my father got retired recently.

As per Section 80C and Section 24 you can claim tax benefit on home loan but the clause makes it mandatory that the co-applicants of the housing loan should also co-own the underlying residential property.
