Best Answer:
As you are having Axis bank credit card only this bank can give you loan against credit card if they give it. In case bank gives you loan then it will not close your credit card unless you have paid back the loan amount completely. Regarding the other bank giving you loan it will check the cibil list in case your name is in the defaulter list then you will not get loan from any bank. In case you want to close your credit card you should write a letter to the bank that you want to close the credit card and attach copies of payments cleared as proof. Keep one copy of letter with you also as it is not easy to close the credit card as banks don't take action so soon and till the time it is closed they keep sending you statements. You should also clear the bank that you don't intend to use the credit card in future so they should not send any statement to you. Get the receiving of the bank official as proof that they have got the letter. When everything is settled cut the credit card into four pieces even the bank ask for it.

Answer 1.
Banks never close the credit cards by themselves as they know this is the only segment where they can keep taking charges from the customers through penalties. I have not taken credit card though banks keep approaching.

Answer 2.
With banking ombudsman there are several complaints relating to closing of credit cards as banks do not close the credit card account easily they keep sending statements mentioning some or the other charges even though you have stopped using it. People keep sending the reminders to the banks but they don't bother to read the letters. Banks should be made to pay heavy penalties for such a behavior to teach them lesson.
